Insert the USB flash drive into the PS3. Select the 'Install Package Files' option from the PS3 main menu. Select the.pkg file that is on the USB flash drive from the menu that comes up. The.pkg file is installed. Press the 'O' button on the PS3 gamepad to go back to the PS3 main menu when the installation completes. Custom package (PKG) files for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) can be used after the introduction of custom firmware on the PS3. Package files are often applications or games. After they are installed onto the PS3, an icon that directs the user to the application appears on the PS3 menu; selecting the icon will start the application.
After a lot of digging around, eventually I learned that the reason for this whole mess is because people were replacing eboot files to make games compatible with 3.55. That made sense at the time, but when the newer firmwares started checking the eboot signatures, stuff started breaking. So to resign the packages so they work with the newer firmwares, you'll need a special suite of programs. At first I tried, which seemed like a pretty good all-in-one bundle.
To be honest, all I could really do was unpack some archives and check the ID of stuff. The installer didn't integrate with my Windows properly. Then I tried. Looks noob friendly enough, but I had no idea what NPDRM meant.
Couldn't find anybody that could explain it either. As much as I wanted to use RazorX's utility, I could only get as far as resigning the eboot. For some reason, it just wouldn't repackage the PKG! I was almost tempted to just search for the until I noticed a reference to.
Just drag the PKG file to the script and it resigns the whole thing for you. Wow, this can't get any easier! How to use it? Download and extract it somewhere. Leave the folder open. Find your PKG file and drag it over the file called ' CFW 4.xx+F.A.R.
Script (Drag Here).bat'. Wait for it to do it's thing. It's a little difficult to read the dark blue writing against a black console window, but wait for the terminal to disappear and you should have yourself a new PKG file (most likely with a different filename). Copy the new PKG to the PS3 or USB and it should work fine. So, repeat the process with any packages which don't work. Time to get busy!

I had just recieved a new playstation from sony, due to my last one 'Yellow Lighting'. I had the system working just fine and I had downloaded updates for MW2, Saints Row 2, and Star Wars the Force Unleashed in that order. Than after that, everything I download fails to install at 14%. And its not one specific file that does it.
It's every File i download. Including DLC for Star wars, Demos, DLC for Dyansty Warriors 6, and DLC for borderlands. And the File sizes vary between 1MB to 2 gigs. I have even tried to download themes and yet it does the same thing and fails at 14%. I need help trying to fix this.
I had just bought a new router and Modem since my old ones are out dated. My new router gives out 25 MBPS and the playstation recieves 8.6 MBPS. Also I had changed the security to WPA instead of the regular WEP. I have tried to download in background and download straight from the store, and it still ends up failing at 14%. Any details would be nice to fix this. Also I have downloaded the DLC, Demos, and Themes, several times and it still ends up at 14%. I use wireless Networking which i wouldn't believe to be the problem.
So any details on this would be very helpful. Also I had restored the playstation to Factory Settings and it still fails at 14%. I still believe that because of some server issues you are downloading corrupted files. I just did some research around and it points out this way. Did you do port forwarding on your router??t might help. Sometimes what happeens is when the server is really busy you download a file. You see that the full size is downloaded but it doesnt install because the download was corrupted.
Probably this is happening to you now. Try again tomorrow. Download and install. Delete the broken downloads from your PS3. The ps3 80029564 problem has something to do with a failed or incomplete download. This maybe due to the fact that the server is busy or not available at the moment. You can also see this during the downloading process.
There are 2 download bars: one for the overall progress and the other one for the individual file progress. When the lower download does not go 100% and the screen changes to the next section (the installation section), then there is a big chance of getting ps3 80029564. You can try downloading the updates again at this point to see if the server has gone back to normal. A poor online connection is another culprit.
When you're on wireless, try connecting via the Ethernet cable instead and see if the download gets faster or better. The last possible cause is a bad ram, which causes downloaded files to be corrupted. Getting it replaced can rid of the playstation 3 80029564 for good. You guys are not the only ones. Same thing has happened since the 3.21 update for me as well. It was flawless for 2 years, until the update. Now it is hit or miss, and MAINLY miss.
Here is my connection. So it is NOT that. It is rock solid when I download games on Steam or the 360. Only the PS3 gives me fits on files above 400MB in size.
It is annoying, and even more pathetic Sony does not respond to the issue. Regardless how small it is. Still customers. Here is the thread with others with the issues. Also I had restored the playstation to Factory Settings and it still fails at 14% does your hardrive still have enough space? Seems like your out of hardrive space so it stop dlin. Hope this helps, I have been getting the 80029564 for about a month now, I noticed after I did a Firmware updated on the PS3.I could not install ANY demo, they all gave the error at 14%.
Like everyone else, I've went all over the internet looking for answers. Sadly you have to go so much BS just to get a few good suggestions, so I thought I'd share what I tried and what finally worked. I'm using a wireless connection and have a Netgear WPN824 v2. Latest firmware, my PS3 is a 120gb slim. I tried re-downloading over and over, didn’t workI put my PS3 in DMZ through my router, didn’t workI wanted to try a direct connection, couldn’t because I don’t have a long enough cable and moving isn’t a optionI was able to download one morning at 7AM, everything I downloaded went through. Files from 700mb to 1700mb worked, tried later that night, same thing.
Error at 14% install. So, I bought GTA: BOGT from the PS Store and tried to download and install it 5 different times and was never able to get it to install, so I am came across a forum post that said he disabled the SPI Firewall through his router.
I also seen that suggested on a couple of other forums so I tried it.and it WORKED!!!! It took longer to download but I’m OK with that, so try that. I was able to turn it off through the WAN section on my router set up page. I don’t if it hurts anything by disabling the SPI so I enabled it after the install was done and will just disabled when I want to download anything. Good luck to everyone!! Sounds like you are having packet loss issues while downloading.
If small pieces of data are being lost during the download phase it will cause issues during install. You can try by going to pingtest.net and checking the packet loss on your pc.
I would recommend using a wired connection to the ps3. Running it on wireless will affect your download speed and cause greater packet loss during file transfer. Most all the ps3's i have set up on wired over wireless see a 10-15 percent increase in bandwidth. My ps3 is hard wired, nat type 1 ( due to DMZ and a few other networking tricks) i get 90% of my bandwidth shown on my modem to the ps3 MW2 10TH PRESTIGE, 5-o Clan. PROBLEM FIXED hey guys.ive had this problem with black ops escalation and ncaa 12 demo and uncharted 3.i narrowed the problem down to it being a problem with my modem and went to a buddys house and downloaded it and installed it successfully so its not a problem with your system or psn account most likely.when the problem reoccured i looked into other things and finally realized that i should change my mtu settings on my ps3 and my router.go into network settings and choose internet settings.then go to custom and select everything automatic except for mtu.
Then switch the setting from 1500 down to something very low (i changed mine to the minimum 576). It slows down your downloads speed but it worked the first time.i think its our modems only allowing packets of a certain size and 1500 exceeds that afterwards switch your mtu setting back to 1500 so your games dont lag!
I have read everywhere on the internet trying to fix this problem, but my dad is an IT manager and figured out what finally worked for us! I extremely recommend trying this for yourself, but i'm not 100% sure it will work for everyone. 1: Update your router firmware! Open your browser and type in your gateway IP address. If you don't know how to find this out, you probably shouldn't be messing around with your router anyway. Or just look it up online, i'm sure you can find a how-to somewhere online. 2: Put your PS3 in DMZ!
3: Disable WMM (Video Priority) 4: Set NAT security open (No deep packet inspection) This was done with a linksys wireless router. I didn't put in-depth instrucctions because everyone's router will be different. Please please PLEASE give this thumbs ups or like it or whatever. Just let everyone know that this WORKS! It may actually just be one or two of the things above, but it worked with the combination of all of these so i'm sticking with it! We tried many different things, but this one actually worked.
I can't stress enough to post a link to this or something. Just get the word out okay!?
If you wanna know why this works, well here it goes. A PS3 is basically built for speed, thats what it's optimized for. So with your NAT type open, it kind of slows it down. We think that since it trying to go too fast, that packets are being dropped in the download. Disabling the WMM, and putting it in a DMZ will just contribute to everything.
Simply updating your router may fix the problem, but I would rather do all of it so I don't have to download a large file just to find out that I needed to do the other steps also. 4.0 may have been supposed to up the speed, which caused the problem, but there's no way to know for sure. That's all i've got guys!
I'm about to make an actual post saying this, instead of just a comment. Hope this helped!!!! It's been happen to me when i download demos, big file, small Ps1 file went installed. CoD blackops DLc stop installing at 14%. I called the tech suport they told me that there is not enough issue for them to fix it. They told me to take it to a friend s house to try downloading on there server. They never said anything about a ram issue, and this is Playstation?` Word of mouth from friends is that it is a ram issue.
The ram has failed!` So Playstation is not taking my playstation in to fix the ram issue, or put new ram in to it. Do we fix it are selfs, and dose it not tell you in he manual Do Not open the consuals?` why can't they fix there busted produce!` I am upset at playstation!`. I have just tried.PS3 safe mode. It detected errors.on my data base.and other areas. Which it auto fixed itself.i tried the 3 recommended steps that SONY sugest.1 RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS.2 RESTORE FILE SYSTEM3 REBUILD DATA BASE. Then I switched on with heightened anticipation. And guess what.
SAME old errorr.80029564.its becoming tiresome now. COME ONE SONY. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! There is a lot of angry and disappointed SONY customers. If it is a RAM issue. Then SONY should FIX this problem.
Free of charge!!!!! Morning guys. Finally, i successfully downloaded and installed One Piece from PS Store.
Found out the culprit is the modem setting. I disable the Firewall option in the modem and it went well.
There are 2 possibilities this error could happened: 1) The Firewall feature in the modem. This feature will block 'malicious' code from the internet. I will try give an example of this 'malicious' content.
2) Some ISP provide Internet Shield Programme. Some are given free and some are given as a trial. I'm not sure how and where this programme running. If u familiar with downloading games from PS Store, usually they also have full unlock key as separate file to be downloaded. But as for One Piece, the only file is the game file. Maybe the unlock key is built-in in the game code. So it will be like installation within installation (full unlock key installation).
Thus, it is like 'virus/trojan' behaviour. The modem sees this as a threat and bock that tiny part of content.
By doing this, your installation file is already corrupted and u will get an error while installing. I also downloaded AC3 from PS Store. With that game, there is a separate file for full unlocking. There is no problem when download and install AC3. As for RE6, there is no unlock key file but I also can installed it without issue.
Maybe how the game developer play with their code will determine your download success. That's it guys. Hope this will help you guys a bit.
